The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander adopts a 2.4-liter engine block developed for the 2023 Toyota Highlander. This turbocharged, four-cylinder powertrain generates a maximum of 265 horsepower. Governed by the Atkinson cycle, the turbo engine dishes out 310 pound-feet of torque. Both SUVs offer a hybrid system, which is partially powered by a 2.5-L, naturally aspirated engine. Whipping out slightly more than 240 total hp, the hybrid system is an ideal choice for urban families. The 2024 Grand Highlander also boasts the Hybrid MAX engine, which has a projected rating of 362 gross hp. Twisting out 400 lb-ft, this all-new propulsion system tows a 5,000-pound trailer. Both Toyota SUVs offer an all-wheel drive (AWD) system with all-weather capability. These three-row models have the legendary Multi-Terrain Select (M-TS) technology for excellent off-road handling. Such a feature essentially boosts traction on mud, snow, rocks, and sand. Additionally, both vehicles offer Sport Mode and Eco Mode for deployment on paved surfaces.
Interior Amenities
Engineered exclusively by Toyota, the SofTex material is available on the 2024 Grand Highlander and 2023 Highlander. Such upholstery is an excellent fit for the heated and ventilated seats in the first two rows. Nevertheless, the tri-zone automatic climate control unit will cool or heat passengers in the third row. Both Toyota SUVs are available with a panoramic moonroof for supplemental climate control. In fact, these premium vehicles offer adjustable sunshades for the windows in the middle row. This space of the vehicle may also be furnished with captain's chairs, which provide significantly more comfort than the conventional bench-style seating system. These spacious Toyota models offer a hands-free liftgate with activation through the Smart Key. Additionally, you can now use the all-new Digital Key to unlock the Grand Highlander's doors.

Making a debut, the Proactive Driving Assist is one of the most important enhancements to the TSS 3.0 suite. Otherwise, you'll find the same active safety features on the 2023 Toyota Highlander's TSS 2.5+ bundle. For instance, both SUVs have the Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist. The updated technology detects various obstacles on and off the road, including guardrails and posts. These full-size Toyota vehicles also have Road Sign Assist, which reads posted signs on the highway. The Grand Highlander's RSA technology has been updated to better recognize signs at urban intersections. Additionally, this all-new model has the Emergency Driving Stop technology that monitors the driver's input.
