Built on the i-FORCE framework, a 2.4-liter engine propels the 2025 Toyota 4Runner. This compact engine generates 278 horsepower through conventional combustion cycles. When revolving at 1,700 RPM, the turbo engine unpacks 317 pound-feet of torque. A traditional wastegate is integrated into the twin-scroll turbocharger. An air-cooled system optimizes the thermodynamics of the I-4 engine. This redesigned Toyota SUV is also available with the i-FORCE MAX powerhouse. Maximum ratings of the hybrid system include 326 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque. Some of the power comes from a 36-kW motor. Filled with nickel-metal hydride cells, a 288-V battery pack energizes the hybrid powertrain. An eight-speed automatic transmission draws power from the hybrid system or turbo engine. Some standard driving modes for the gearbox include the Normal and Eco. Drivers will get a more thrilling drive with the Sport S+ Mode. Likewise, the Custom Mode optimizes the powertrain according to your preferences. This premium Toyota SUV offers a part-time 4WD system with a two-speed transfer case. A limited-slip differential is available for the full-time 4WD system. Some trims roll on a classic rear-wheel drive. Drivers can easily conquer off-road terrains near St. Louis thanks to the Old Man Emu, Bilstein, and other robust components. This rugged Toyota vehicle also offers the FOX QS3 shocks with piggyback reservoirs.
